I began my hobby of photography about 6 years ago when Kathy bought me my first camera for a father's day gift. Since that time I have been hooked and I enjoy being outdoors with my camera. My real passion is nature, wildlife and landscape photography.
I currently shoot a Canon 5D mark iii as my primary camera, but I also take my smaller G12 along when I don't want to carry the bigger camera and lenses. I have 3 L-series lenses I usually carry a 28 to 70 mm, a 70 to 200 mm and a 100 to 400 mm.
This past summer Kathy and I have gone on several hikes in the local area to see and capture images of many of the waterfalls. This past year we also took a vacation to the Scottish Highlands with National Geographic adventures.
I am constantly seeking ways to improve my photographic skills. I have taken several courses taught by Scott Manthey at Greenriver Community college. In addition I have completed 9 courses from Better Photo. I am a member of the Rainier Hills Photography Club where I am currently serving as the chairperson of the activity committee.
This past year my photography has been recognized by several awards including 12 photos reaching finalist status at Better Photo. At the Washington State Fair I have won 2 honorable mentions and 1 judges choice awards. My photography is exhibited and for sale at two locations, the Wildbirds Unlimited store in Covington, WA and at the The Grape Adventure wineshop in Kent, WA.
I hope you take a few minutes to look around at my galleries and if you have any interest in owning some of the images please contact me. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this bio and look at my photographs. I find so much beauty surrounding us and it pleases me to capture and share some of those moments.
